Charles Amy at the Pioneer Quest Site

On Charles Amy’s property near Argyle, Manitoba, you can visit the homestead of Frank and Alana Logie and Tim and Deanna Treadway, location of the reality-based television series, “Pioneer Quest: A Year in The Real West.”

Charles’ property is located on Faith Trail, a Red River Cart highway pioneers used to travel from Winnipeg to Shoal Lake in the 1800s.

Charles and his wife, Marjorie, live nearby on the Amy homestead (which itself, goes back 5 generations). 

Being a  history buff, Charles helped to write a book about the area (Hands Across the Meridian) and he would be happy to take you on a tour of the Pioneer Quest location, however, this is done by appointment only.

Charles offers 90 minute walking tours or specialized custom tours where he explains how two modern-day couples stepped back in time and lived like pioneers. This was an arduous task for the two couples, building cabins, digging a well, and planting crops just like original pioneers to the area.
